My RV has about 2 dozen of these bulbs and I decided that after paying over $6 for a pack of 2 at auto zone it was worthwhile carrying spares. They came in a cardboard box that protects each bulb quite well. So far I've used only one and it worked perfectly. It's a light bulb, what would you expect?
