I think I may order many more, to keep a stockpile as they burn out - I love them! They are gorgeous when turned on, dimmed, or even off, and perfect for any antique or replica historical light fixture. They add so much personality and a beautiful golden light. They do not burn as brightly as modern-style 60W incandescent bulbs...take this into consideration when choosing wattage. They come very carefully packaged - I was very satisfied with the way they were shipped. They glow a gorgeous warm deep orange red color. They are that final touch in a restoration project trying to capture the feeling of the 1920's. It is very important to understand, these bulbs use 60 watts of electricity, but they only output about the equivalent of maybe 25 watts of light (I'm being generous, it's probably more like 10 watt night light level). In the picture, there are two loops of filament, or fine wire inside the bulb. That is the only portion of the bulb that glows. The glass is clear so the filament is very visible. These bulbs are sturdy construction, the glass is thick. The nipple at the top is where the bulb had a vacuum pulled and then clipped off with a flame to seal the bulb. I believe it is recommended to use these bulbs in a vertical direction, either pointing up or down; but not on an angle. And avoid too much vibration.
