Recently purchased this bulb. It is painted orange, not made of orange glass. Recommend any owner be very careful not to scratch the surface. Once scratched, the paint chips off like cheap old nail polish, exposing bits of the regular light bulb underneath.

I don't know about the other colors but the blue bulb is great. It's exactly what
i wanted. Great value and really soothing.
