These bulbs give a neat effect and you can't beat the price. Incidentally, incandescent bulbs are not scheduled to be banned. The law just mandates that some commonly-used types of bulbs improve their efficiency by 25%, and there are already inexpensive incandescents on the market that meet the new criteria. And almost all specialty bulbs (like these) are exempt anyway.

I put some in a chandelier, now all the light goes down where I need it, very interesting look. Also be sure to get them before they become illegal.
