This quite expensive LED replacement for the standard incandescent bulb has a a brightness about 30% below the incandescent and about 80% the overall coverage. The color temperature is very close to what you would expect from a daylight flourescent bulb, not nearly as soft as the comparable incandescent. However, if you're into supporting the Green movement, it does use less energy but is kind of a step backward into the gas light era.
