The CFL bulb I received has no BRAND name listed on it, just a "fulfilled by Amazon" sticker on a generic box!
Does not look like the example pictured, long/skinny 2.25" diameter instead of the expected 3" dia.
Generic sticker on box rated 5500K temp. (not 6500K) and the the CFL is stamped PHOTOGRAPHY bulb?
Yeah, I know they can do both, still it's SOLD as a Perfect Daylight Grow light CFL.
Runs VERY, VERY HOT and light output was insufficient for one(1) small (7-8" tall) indoor Jalapeno plant, it died...........
IMHO, not well suited for the purpose intended (to HOT)!

The bulb was nice and bright, but runs hot. I connected it in November of 2010 and now in Jan 2011 it doesn't work anymore. I didn't even use it everyday. I thought CFL's last for couple of thousand hours, this one died in couple of hundred hours. I used it with standard socket without any dimmer. Be careful the bulb won't last too long.

Perfect light for orchids - but doesn't last,

This light WAS working perfectly for my wife's orchids - regular grow lights generate too much heat that wilt the leaves, but this light runs cool and generates more light than I expected. The orchids have responded extreamly well.
UPDATE: Light failed after 8 months - CFL lights are rated for 10'000 hours - but this comes nowhere close - I recommend finding a different manufacturer.
