This review is from: EarthLED EvoLux 2 - 12 Watt LED Light Bulb - Cool White (5000K) - 1000 Lumens This bulb works great for me. I have two of them, one on a First Alert PIR725 Motion Sensing Socket and the other on a regular wall switch. Both work fine - instant on and bright. I also own the ThetaLux - 9 Watt LED Light Bulb version of this bulb. I used the Extech HD450 Light Meter to measure the light output and can confirm it puts out more than the 9w version. As far as I know, this is currently (Dec 2011) the brightest A19 E27 base (standard light bulb) LED replacement bulb. One of the bulbs has a slight hum/buzz...Read more 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: EarthLED EvoLux 2 - 12 Watt LED Light Bulb - Cool White (5000K) - 1000 Lumens This evolux 1000 lumens bulb is bright, a very clean white illumination, no cheapie Leds here. This bulb is heavy for a light bulb, it feels well made and solid. It got hot after 3 hours so I changed location and it did NOT reach that temp again. Must have been an old lamp or incorrect wattage.
This light works best when hung from a ceiling socket, its still effective on a table lamp but not optimized. I cant wait for the prices to fall so I can add this bulb to every room. For now this $25.00 bulb proudly displays itself in my home office. Buy this Bulb here on Amazon and get it quik, and get it cheaper! Amazon is a blessing! 2 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?) This review is from: EarthLED EvoLux 2 - 12 Watt LED Light Bulb - Cool White (5000K) - 1000 Lumens I tested this with a 14w, 5000k, 800 lumens compact fluorescent light bulb. This LED light bulb is 12w, 5000k, 1000 lumens.Pros: -Consumed 2 watts less -Unlike CFLs, it doesn't contain mercury -Made in Taiwan (if you try to avoid things made in China) -Instant start up. Unlike some CFLs, it doesn't need 10-20secs to reach full brightness CONS: -The description says "More than 25,000 Hour Lifespan (12X an incandescent)". However, on the box that I received, it says 9.1 years lifespan based on 3hrs/day which is less than half of what was advertised. It's the same lifespan as most CFLs and only .1 years longer than the CFL I compared it to. -There was no clear difference in the brightness when compared to the CFL I used. Only when you look at them closely, will you realize that the LED light bulb is a little brighter (posted pics of them side by side and as directional lighting) Although it is a little bit more...Read more |
