I'm astounded there are no reviews yet, so here's mine:
These bulbs let me to begin my long-awaited transition to LEDs. If you can't cope with the color balance (modeled after the sun under "normal" weather conditions), you can always pick the "warm" model that simulates the particular color we've grown to tolerate from most traditional incandescents. If you can, and I highly recommend you try, there's no better LED bulb on Amazon (or the 'net so far as I've seen).
The size is extremely similar to a traditional bulb, bigger or smaller by a few millimeters depending on where you measure. Though it looks plastic, the bottom feels like ceramic or painted metal or such; expect significantly more weight than the thin-walled vacuum you're replacing but I have trouble thinking of anywhere that this difference would...Read more

I too am in transition of switching from cfl to led. More light, less current draw better coloring (I prefer the whiteness over yellow) Try it-you will like it. Save on electricity costs and replacement cost-lasts much longer than cfl. Bought some locally as well but paid 3X more than EarhLED. I got it shipped for free and it took a little over a week. Auwesome company with a great product, and when paired with Amazon-it doesn't get any better. ALOHA

1. Bright
2. Cool white(5000K)is a bit warmer/more pleasant than 6000K bulb (to me)
3. Instant on, no hum, no flicker & it runs rather cool
4. Heavier than "regular" bulbs (top is diffused hard white plastic)
5. I use 2 of them (7-watt)in the bathroom and it's very bright.
6. I also use one in the hall way in place of flood light. It works ok, the bulb is about standard size incandescent bulb. You may need an extension if you use it this way.
7. It's a bit expensive ...but if they last for 5 years, it would be a worthwhile investment :)
