Product Review
Product Description
Light up your home with these energy saver bulbs and save in energy costs. With a growing concern for reducing energy consumption, these compact fluorescent bulbs are a must in every home. CFLs use approximately 70% less energy than incandescent bulbs and produce the same light output. One CFL bulb lasts from 8,000 to 10,000 hours or up to 10 years. This saves you money in energy costs and bulb purchases when compared to regular incandescent bulbs.
Summary: Good while they lasted... but they didn't last 2010-07-19
Comment: When I first received these light bulbs, one of them was broken. But Amazon was good enough to credit my balance a few dollars to make up for it. I installed 2 of these bulbs outside for my porch and side lights to keep on all night, every night. I figured that since I was keeping the bulbs on all night, that I may as well save money on KWH usage; these bulbs giving off 100 watts and using actually using 23 watts each.
I will say that these bulbs worked very well. They illuminated my entire front and side of the house, which is what I needed. The light looked very nice and natural, like daylight. I was very pleased... until one of them burned out already. I ordered these toward the end of May. It is only the middle of July right now. Now I may not be a math expert, but somehow I think that the claim "lasts 13 times longer" or "up to 10 years" is pretty faulty. I didn't even get 2 months out of mine; which is about the same time I got out of regular light bulbs. For their claim to be remotely true, these would have had to last at least 1 year. So I won't be buying this brand again. We'll see how GE works.

Comment: the cardboard box that these bulbs come in has no real padding inside to keep the bulbs from SMASHING EACH OTHER INTO SMITHEREENS and i got back two working bulbs out of four woooohoooo
im my humble opinion, you're practically GAMBLING should you choose to buy this 4-pack. If you are crazy enough to ignore my review, be very careful on delivery day when you are picking up the box for the first time ... If it sounds like it's raining glass, bulbs might be broken... if so, be careful, these bulbs contain toxic mercury and you might get mercury poisoning if you are not careful.. yadda yadda

Summary: Feit DAYLIGHT 2010-02-20
Comment: Unlike the more well known brands, Feit DAYLIGHT is the only one I have found that really imitates DAYLIGHT. It emits a pure white light reminiscent of a sunny day at the beach. Other brands, despite claiming to be "natural light" or "daylight", exhibit that sickly yellow tint found in CFL bulbs. Please be sure that you are puchasing Feit DAYLIGHT
(Model #ESL23TM/D) as other Feit CFL bulbs produce that same ugly yellow glow!!!!!!!!!!!
It is excellent for minor surgery, ie splinter removal, etc. reading fine print in books or newspapers but is ill advised for reading shiny reflective material such as magazines.
