I purchased two 4-packs of these R30 bulbs because the price was good. However, out of the eight bulbs, one was defective. It came on for about ten seconds, then quit. When I started to un-screw it, it came on again. By the time I got off my ladder it was out again. I replaced the defective bulb with another new bulb, and the other one worked fine - so the problem is with the bulb, not the fixture.

Also, the light has kind of a funky red tint to it.

i have bought these bulbs for years and they last forever. after 6 years, i finally had one die. they last much longer than the claimed life.

I only paid $1.99 per box for these and they still weren't worth it. From the beginning they were annoying. They are very dim when you first turn them on and take a long time to warm up (I know CFL's do that, but these seem exceedingly bad about it). They also aren't consistent in color temperature. Worse, some of them flicker on and off at random. And the worst part? They don't last. I got these just a couple months ago and just this week they started burning out. Within the week, three of them have gone out and I wouldn't be surprised if three more go out within the next week. I was hoping they would at least last a little longer so I can start replacing with LED's one at a time.
