With LED bulb prices falling, I wanted to replace the 40W incandescent bulbs in my 2 of my bathrooms (each bathroom uses six bulbs, which is a lot of electricity usage). However, the LED prices are still much too high, and with the light usage I put on the bathroom vanity lights, it would take me over 5 years just to break even.
These CLFs are just $2.50 each, so my break-even point should be just under 2 years. Still longer than I prefer, but I decided to go for it anyway.
So far, they work pretty well. They do take a while to get to full brightness, but I see that as a nice bonus for the times I hit the switch in the middle of the night. However, a couple of the six in my vanity take quite a while longer to get to full brightness, so for the first 30-60 seconds, they're noticeably more orange in color. Makes me wonder if this means they're about to burn out, since I notice this effect with my older CLF bulbs.
Pros:

I bought 12 of these lights and almost all of them have died. Considering they have all died and have mercury in them I have to wonder if regular incandescentw are greener.

I had many of the same comments to make as user NoFear_2008, with one exception: the bulbs are dead now. Two of them have been out for maybe a month now, and the other two must have just died in the past couple days. I ordered them March 28th and it's now November 26th. *sigh* Really wishing LEDs would go up in lumens and down in price. Only giving them two stars because there's a small chance the fixture is having issues, and I might replace it.
