Summary: Not as durable as I would have liked 2008-09-02
Comment: The bulbs are quite large, as indicated in another review. However, I found that I got used to how they look and I like the fact that they produce great light with substantially less heat. The bigger problem is that one of the bulbs burned out after only 3 weeks of service and though they are guaranteed, the redemption rules are largely impractical so the guarantee is pretty much useless.

Summary: Too big for most fixtures 2008-08-31
Comment: Although the overall quality of this energy-saving light bulb is excellent, I had to return it because it was way bigger than I expected.
I was planning to use it in a large recessed ceiling fixture, but it would barely fit in width and would protrude by an inch. Put another way, this bulb is almost double the length of a traditional 100W bulb.
Another problem is the width of the body just above the thread: very few fixtures are capable of accommodating such a big bulb.
