I initially bought a Zoo-med infrared 150 watts heat lamp in order to heat up silicone rubber molds to cast clear resin parts. You can surely feel the heat from the bulb...if you're close up to it, like 6 inches. The further away then the more noticeable the heat difference. It probably does a good job for warming reptile pets, but not for what I wanted.
After reviewing several other heat bulbs I chose this one, although it had no reviews at the time and have to say I am really glad I did.
The seller wrapped the inside and outside of the bulb package in bubble wrap. I screwed her in, turned her on and I could instantly feel a great amount of heat coming from the lamp, even as far as a foot and a half away.
To check out her heating abilities I placed an old credit card under the lamp about a foot away and within 3 minutes the card started to warp!

I bought this for at home heat therapy and it is Very warm.
The last bulb I had was only 150 watts and I would do 15 minute sessions.
With this 250 watt bulb I only need to do 5 to 8 minute sessions.
I'm not saying that a higher wattage bulb is necessary, but it has helped me.
The cost here on amazon (I used Lamps Plus) is also at least half the price
compared to the alternative health store I went to previously.

Will definitely purchase this bulb again.

Price was good & the free 2 day shipping with Amazon Prime can't be beat. I use it as one of the two bulbs in a heat lamp installed in the ceiling of a bathroom. It seems to warm up the place quite nicely. I am happy with my purchase.
