After reading the negative reviews of these sellers, I went back to the Energy Federation site where I bought my torchiere lamp. They can be found at EFI dot org and delivered me a genuine GE bulb that was identical to the one that came with my lamp. The price was about the same as these folks and it arrived in two days. If anything, it was over packed with lots of popcorn. It can be found with the pin-based lamps under the consumer division online shopping.

When our kitchen light needed replaced we had tha same experience many descibed --no where to be found in brick and mortar store then this but our had a 835 instead of 830 in the model number. Well it was this or replace the fixture - last bulb lasted years so I ordered it came next day and it's a GE and if works perfetly. Hopefully we'll get another few years to figure out if these are becoming extinct.

These "D" style bulbs are rated to last about six years by GE. I put three fixtures purchased from Home Depot on the ceiling in my basement rec room about 10 years ago. The bulbs were still working but lately everyone noticed the light output had fallen. Even after the bulbs fully warmed up the output was feeble.
Home Depot no longer carries these bulbs so I purchased them from Amazon (none of my neighborhood stores had them, either). What an improvement! The light output from the new bulbs is fantastic. I'm very glad I bought these. Because they are genuine GE they fit my fixtures perfectly. You're paying for the electricity; no point in wasting it on old worn out bulbs.
