Hmm,
Well, why not (anything for a vote)...
This is a compact, line voltage PAR reflector lamp with a rating of 60 watts.
It works well in small track heads and other applications where bright, even beam dispersion from a compact package is desirable. The color temperature is just right at 2950 K.
My general assessment is that line voltage halogen lamps such as this one can't be beat for quality of light. They do, however, produce a lot of heat and often underperform their usage rating.
Whether these environmental shortcomings outweigh the excellent light quality is a decision that you'll have to make for yourself.
Anyway, I just bought six more...

I needed nice bright, high K, even distribution flood lights for track lighting in a showroom. I researched and tested many different bulbs, including the very similar GE Reveal 60W halogen, and this Edison was without a doubt the best bulb tested. The 60W Reveal halogen was 2nd, but it was noticeably dimmer. Excellent color and distribution. As long as I can get these, I won't replace them with anything else.
Works Great - but Clear Base lights up too much,

Bought 5 of these to replace 5 of the same GE model as they burn out. Nice bright focused light. No complaints. Only comment is the base of these is clear which allows it to light up a bit and make the bulb itself look more brilliant, which is different that the older bulbs I have that are solid white and did not have this effect. I'll make sure to get the white painted ones next time as they throw more of the light down instead of being so glaring as these.
