Good Earth Lighting #G19920-WH-I White Halo Spot Light

Bought these to put up beside the couch so hubby can do his Sudoko without destroying the 'cinema' like ambience of the tv room. Ain't gonna work! The light emitted is yellow and extremely feeble, even when held less than a foot from the page reading is difficult, at more than a foot it's not possible at all.

I've owned lots of various halogen fixtures, including many spots - some of which were 10w as is this fixture. Always they had a bright white beam, but this one is yellowish and pathetic - similar in lighting ability to a single candle. I'm going to try new bulbs, but of course, they cost almost half the price I paid for the fixture. According to the pamphlet, only 10w bulbs may be used, but I may try a 20w and see what happens.

Sending them back is not worth the hassle, so I'll keep then and mount them in a closet somewhere.

When I hear halogen, I think bright white light. I was amazed at how feeble the light was from this lamp. Maybe it's a bad bulb?

I was hoping to use this to uplight a 6' tall sculpture, but it was way too dim. Even in a dimly lit room, it was overwhelmed by the regular room light. I would not recommend it for lighting anything from more than a few feet away. Other than that, it is exactly as described.

I wanted to put a spotlight on some moose antlers I have hanging - this was the perfect item and was pretty inexpensive! Love it.
