This bulb is much larger than I thought it was, so make sure to check the size shown in the image to make sure it will fit for your application. It's also much more awesome. I replaced a 60 watt incandescent grow light with this thing. It's so much brighter, and our plant has taken off after adding it to our grow area. We're growing a ghost pepper plant indoors, and it has really flourished after adding the bulb.

...as in, from the land of giants! I read the other comment and thought, well, it doesn't sound that big. When I opened the box all I could do was laugh. It's huge! It screws into my lamps and into the ceiling fixture that held a small-size flood lamp, but it sticks out several inches on all of them. It looks a little goofy, but it definitely is very bright. I don't need any other lamps on in my small kitchen when it's on. I don't understand why it has to be so big to put out 60 watts unless it's due to the color of the light. I'm not giving it 5 stars only because a regular-sized 60-watt bulb would be much more versatile.

These lights were were great for starting all my flower and vegetable plants. Great price too, I haven't gotten my elec bill yet, but hope it won't go up!
