These bulbs encourage very robust and quick growth where natural sunlight is inadequate. I have used them for tomatoes, aloe, and several kinds of flowers. I was surprised to find that one of these bulbs seems to offer more benefit than 2-3 traditional fluorescent 20w tube grow lights. Of the 4 I have purchased, one did not last very long at all, approx 3 months. The others are still going strong at approx 9 months now. For the price, I haven't found a better plant light.

I replaced the old incandescent type grow bulb with this new CFL product. It is keeping a small English Ivy my wife bought supplied with the light it needs to thrive. It has been the "only" indoor plant she ever got to survive in the limited natural light conditions in our home. I lost her unexpectedly to cancer on May 2nd of this year, and this is the only living thing I have to keep connected to her. The life expectancy of this bulb is 10 times longer than the old bulb, costs less than 3 of the other bulb, and puts out so much less heat than the old bulb it's noticeable if you are sitting next to it. 38 years was not enough time with my dear Joy.

I have a lot of huge tropical plants that come inside for the winter, We have a big
south facing room but they still struggle from lack of light. I have these bulbs in
clip on lamps and move them around they seem to be helping. I think for the price
they are a good deal.
