This bulb was purchased to run long hours in the bathroom. A night light of sorts. I tried it in a couple of fixtures around the house, and I really liked the shape, light distribution and color of the light (natural and warm). This is all on top of LED's inherent efficiency and longevity. BTW you can pick these up at hardware stores, eg Home Depot, for ca. $13.

For overhead lights, especially those in hard-to-reach places, these 20-year energy-efficient LED bulbs will be most welcome. They come in a wide range of brightness and look just like ordinary incandescent bulbs. Highly recommended, even though they are expensive.
