It saves so much energy and will last for years. They fit into our old chandelier with the adapter, which is wonderful. It is also nice that they light up so quickly and the light level is consistent. The problem we are finding is that even though they put out the same number of lumen they do not put out as much light quantity. So, our dining room is much darker/dimmer than it was before. We are going to continue to use them and will probably get used to the difference, but it was quite a change. However, the color temperature is way off from your typical warm incandescent bulb. They had a slight purplish-pink tint to them that looked awful! White objects and white trim in my room are now pink! Sorry, but these bulbs are going back. 1 of 5 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Philips DecoLED 2.5-Watt Candle Bent Tip (Tools & Home Improvement) The packaging says "Compare with 15 watt incandescent. *"
The fine print indicates that this lamp gives 30 lumens of light output. A typical 15 watt incandescent emits 110 watts. A 3 watt LED of any reasonable recent technology should be able to emit ~250 lumens! Total waste of money. Do not buy. |
