This review is from: T8 LED Tube - A 4ft. (48") Fluorescent Tube Replacement ! Equivalent to F32T8 - 32 Watt and 2,600 Lumen Fluorescent. Consume only 16 Watt, Cold Weather Instant Start, No Ballast, No UV & IR, Cool White. Suitable Replacement for T12 4ft. (48") Fluorescent Tube too
I am installing these in my office. I have 45 fixtures with four x 4ft bulbs each, and that is way too expensive to replace at once. The plan is to replace the them as they burn out. I have several ballast go out every year and replacing them is about $70 (two per fixture). The flourecent bulbs I currently use are about $14 each (four per fixture). That comes out to two ballasts and 4 bulbs each fixture. That is $196 to continue with flourescent and $200 to switch to LED. I am switching to LED.
The installation is a little tricky but not complicated. I am leaving the old ballast in the fixture, in case someone ever wants to return to flourecent. The fixture wiring needs to be rerouted to make one side Hot wire (black) and the other side neutral (white). As long as one of the two end connectors are connected it will work. The intensity of the LED light at the floor is not as great as the flourecent. But this is also true between Halogen and Flourecent, and you wouldn't...Read more

I ordered these from a company I never heard of but what the heck. I ordered the tubes, and they arrived about 5 days later, undamaged. I Bypassed the ballast on my existing fluorescent lamp and plugged them in. Then tested. Having been a photographer in the past, I have a lux meter, and being an energy saving crazed individual, I also have a power consumption Watt meter. I then checked Lux at 6' below the lamp, (workbench height) and compared that to the bulbs I removed and found the results to be almost identical. I then measured watts, and found their claim to be accurate and I'm using about half the power I previously used. I luv 'em. They claim 30,000 hours and I run these lights every night from 6:PM to 6:AM in my shop. That should be about 6.8 years. Time will tell.

I was worried about installation, but I dug up a video on youtube for how to bypass the ballast - it requires wire cutters, and a couple of wire nuts. Apparently, there are some digital ballasts that can just be removed. Anyhoo - it took 5 minutes once I understood the task.
Lights are bright - I ended up using one per fixture. Ordering one more to handle our last fluorescents.
